MY STORY
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.
This is the scripture Osmani has stood on since giving his life to Christ in 1999. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Osmani’s music journey began with the piano in the church orchestra at Vida Abundante. However, he was quickly captivated by the saxophone. As soon as he heard the beautiful notes played, he knew this was the instrument God was calling him to study. The Music Pastor, Reynaldo Monduy, agreed to give him a saxophone on the condition that he would use it to serve God. Julio García, Osmelin Gonzalez and Armando Trujillo were the patient instructors who taught Osmani everything from basic scales to music theory. He learned to play the saxophone brilliantly under their tutelage. And thus Osmani embarked on a great path of discovery and the beautiful world of music unfolded before him.
Through his obedience to God, Osmani has had many wonderful opportunities to share his talent with others. He has traveled extensively throughout Cuba playing at churches, festivals, and on national television. As a member of the Christian band, La Cruzada, he performed at multiple festivals including “Cuerda Viva” where they won the Most Popular Band award. His last performance in Cuba was a collaboration with the Free in Christ Ministry.
In 2018, Osmani immigrated to the United States to marry his wife, Jacqueline. He continues to serve God performing in different churches and ministries across the country. As a member of the 1-A-Chord Gospel Band, Osmani travels with the band spreading the Good News as well as good music.
